How to cite our work
Citations
The MotM Journey Story Archive is a public archive created to support new scholarship, policy initiatives and other research related areas that help shift the migration narrative to a more humane discourse. With that in mind, we welcome the citation of our Journey Stories or other written content, as well as transcribed audio content for your research, work and publications with the following citation guidelines:
JOURNEY STORY
Citation should include:
authorship of the profile name first, then the organization
e.g., if a Journey Story is profiling someone named “Jane,” this name should appear as the primary citation, followed by the MotM organization name;profile nationality
nation of origin should be listed parenthetically after the profile’s name;date of publication
date is listed on the left margin of every published Journey Story;profile unique URL
the website URL of the Journey Story.
i.e. “Jane (Nigeria), Migrants of the Mediterranean. 1 January 2025. https://www.migrantsofthemed.org/meet-jane.”
ALL OTHER MATERIAL
Citation of articles, newsletters and other materials:
as listed style guides (AP, MLA, Chicago, etc.) dictate.
Permission for reprint
Reprinted written content, photographs or any audio-visual material on the MotM site or in our archive is prohibited except with the sole approval by Migrants of the Mediterranean Corp., granted on a case by case basis, a request for which can be submitted in writing to: info@migrantsofthemed.org.
